White House strikes back on Death Star petition  Friday, Jan 11, 2013 11:02 PM PST WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Obama administration dashed the hopes of Star Wars geeks across the galaxy by rejecting an official petition calling for the U.S. government to build a Death Star, the fictional planet-destroying space station featured in the Star Wars movies. "The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn't on the horizon," said Paul Shawcross, head of the White House budget office's science and space branch. ... U.S. judge allows exhuming poisoned lottery winner's body  Friday, Jan 11, 2013 01:59 PM PST CHICAGO (Reuters) - A Chicago judge agreed on Friday to allow authorities investigating a possible murder to exhume the body of a man who died of cyanide poisoning shortly after winning $1 million in the Illinois Lottery. Cook County Judge Susan Coleman agreed there was "reasonable and sufficient" reason to allow the Cook County medical examiner to obtain more forensic samples from the body of Urooj Kahn, 46, who died on July 20. ... Man mauled by Bronx Zoo tiger pleads not guilty to trespassing  Friday, Jan 11, 2013 01:58 PM PST (Reuters) - A man who was mauled after leaping into a Siberian tiger's den at the Bronx Zoo in September pleaded not guilty to criminal trespassing charges on Friday. David Villalobos, 25, jumped off of the zoo's elevated monorail and into the tiger enclosure on the afternoon of September 21, according to the criminal complaint against him. He was released until his next court appearance on March 12, a spokesman for the Bronx District Attorney's office said. Villalobos said he jumped into the tiger's den for spiritual reasons. ... British man who threw bottle at Bolt found guilty  Friday, Jan 11, 2013 09:41 AM PST (Please note strong language in second paragraph) LONDON (Reuters) - A mentally ill British man who shouted abuse at Usain Bolt and threw a beer bottle on the track at the start of the men's Olympic 100 meters final was found guilty of a public order offence on Friday. Ashley Gill-Webb, 34, shouted "Usain I want you to lose, Usain you are bad, you are an arsehole" at the Jamaican sprinter in the minutes before the race on August 5 last year, a key moment of the London Games. ... No rest for the dead with surround-sound coffin  Friday, Jan 11, 2013 07:17 AM PST STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - A Swedish man has designed a coffin with built-in speakers linked to a music playlist that can be updated by the living. Music and video equipment store owner Fredrik Hjelmquist said his hi-fi coffin would entertain the dead and provide solace for grieving friends and relatives by making it possible for them to alter the deceased's playlist online. ...
