Derrik Sweeney, now back in the United States, said the students were forced to lay in a fetal position for seven hours in darkness after their arrest, their hands cuffed behind their backs and jackets pulled over their heads. Reuters - MANILA/BOSTON (Reuters) - Philippine police and the FBI have arrested four people over a hacking operation that targeted customers of U.S. telecommunications giant AT&T to funnel money to a Saudi-based militant group. Those arrested on Wednesday in Manila were paid by the same group the Federal Bureau of Investigation accuses of having funded the November 2008 attacks in Mumbai, the Philippines' Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said. The hacking activity resulted in almost $2 million in losses incurred by AT&T, the CIDG said in a statement. ... Full Story

Reuters - MANILA/BOSTON (Reuters) - Philippine police and the FBI have arrested four people that Manila said were paid by a militant Saudi Arabian-based group to hack into U.S. telecom AT&T's system, but the company said it was neither targeted nor breached. The Philippines' Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said those arrested in Wednesday's operation in Manila with the Federal Bureau of Investigation were paid by the same group the FBI said had funded the November 2008 attacks in Mumbai. ... Reuters - LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Jehane Noujaim -- director of "Control Room," a 2004 documentary about Arabic-language news network Al Jazeera -- was arrested and later released after participating in a protest in Egypt, according to multiple reports on Twitter. Noujaim was interviewing a military officer when the arrest took place and was accused of being a spy for Israel and a traitor, according to U.K. newspaper the Guardian.
