Manchester United picks NYSE for U.S. public offering

Reuters -  (Reuters) - Manchester United has picked the New York Stock Exchange to make its stock market debut, ending months of speculation over where the world's best-supported soccer club would list. After first eyeing a Hong Kong IPO, the former English Premier League champions had planned a $1 billion listing in Singapore in the second half of last year before putting plans on hold because of market turmoil. The U.S.-owned club filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday to raise up to $100 million in an initial public offering of its Class A ordinary shares in New York. ...

Reuters -  (Reuters) - Linebacker Jonathan Vilma's appeal of the season-long ban he received for his role in the New Orleans Saints' bounty scandal was denied along with three other players on Tuesday by the National Football League (NFL). Defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove (now with the Green Bay Packers), Saints' defensive end Will Smith and linebacker Scott Fujita (now with the Cleveland Browns), who all received smaller suspensions, also had their appeals denied. ...

Reuters -  (Reuters) - The Dallas Stars signed Jaromir Jagr to a one-year, $4.55 million contract, hoping the prolific scorer can boost a struggling team that has not made the playoffs since 2008, the National Hockey League (NHL) team said on Tuesday. Jagr, a five-time NHL scoring champion who returned to the NHL in 2011 after three seasons in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League, was third on the Philadelphia Flyers with 54 points in 73 games last season. ...
