A CNN/ORC International Poll finds that 56% of Americans say it would be a bad thing if the nation's debt ceiling was not raised and 38% say it would be a good thing for the country. And by a 51%-43% margin, the public says it's more important to raise the debt ceiling than to delay the new health care law.
If the debt ceiling is not raised, just over half of those questioned - 53% -- in the CNN poll say congressional Republicans rather than President Barack Obama would be more responsible, with 31% pointing the finger at the president.
