"God weeps" for sexual abuse of children, Pope Francis said Sunday after meeting with victims of abuse in Philadelphia.
He said that those responsible for the sexual abuse of youth by clergy will be held accountable.
Francis expressed his own "pain and shame" because of what the victims have been through, the Vatican said in a statement.
The Pope leaves the U.S. tonight.
