The death of Munoz has prompted renewed interest in her mysterious life -- not only in Spain, but around the world, too. Although it's been several decades since Munoz was crowned Miss Universe, her story continues to fascinate people to this day. After what seemed like a promising start to a film career, Munoz faced several struggles in her life and was perpetually hounded by rumors involving drugs and illness. The former fashion model, who was born just a few years after the inaugural Miss Universe Pageant, died quietly at her parents' home in Malaga, Spain; her family refuses to disclose the disease that caused her death, apparently in accordance with her wishes.
