Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony Batts will be replaced, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has announced.
Batts drew widespread criticism for his response to riots that erupted after the April death of a young black man in police custody. In an interview with CNN in May, Batts acknowledged that police were not prepared for such massive demonstrations -- particularly once they turned violent.
