Former President George H.W. Bush fell on Wednesday morning while at home in Kennebunkport, Maine, breaking a bone in his neck, Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said.
He has a broken bone in his vertebrae, but "it was not life threatening" McGrath said. Bush, 91, is in a hospital in Portland, Maine, and is stable.
McGrath said Bush was at no time disoriented.
"We are not expecting a long stay," McGrath said.
