Family hopes to bring awareness to rare genetic disorder

Four-year-old Logan Pacl was diagnosed with Sanfilippo syndrome after his parents noticed he was developing at a slower rate than his twin. The rare genetic disorder causes a child's body and mind to deteriorate. An experimental surgery at Duke University could help Logan, but his parents are hoping for a more complete treatment. |
Man critically burned when car strikes Olathe restaurant

An Olathe fast food restaurant worker was critically burned with hot grease when a motorist crashed into the side of the Church’s Chicken at 124 N. Clairborne Road about 12:30 p.m. today. The 21-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was inside the building at the time and suffered burns on about half of his body, according to Olathe police. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. |

The Associated Press The Associated Press SAN DIEGO Authorities say a 31-year-old man has been found dead along a road at a northern San Diego County Indian reservation. Sheriff's Lt. Larry Nesbit says said Sunday the body of Javier Hernandez Rojas of Orange was discovered Friday on the Pala Reservation.
