Iowa cops nab 'permanent marker' burglary suspects

AP - Police had no trouble identifying two men accused of trying to break into a Carroll apartment. Police were responding to a call about an attempted burglary when they pulled over a car matching the alleged suspects' vehicle. Inside the car, officers found two men with their faces blackened with permanent marker. Police said the caller described two men with painted faces attempting to break into an apartment Friday night before driving off. Full Story

Police: Man claimed God told him to steal car

AP - Police said a man who smashed a window at a car dealership claimed he was following a higher calling. Police said a 36-year-old man was collared by a security guard at Freedom Dodge before he could get inside the showroom. Man allegedly torches van after wild test drive

AP - Police in eastern Pennsylvania said a man unhappy with his new van took a car salesman on a wild ride and later torched the vehicle in front of the dealership. Authorities say 58-year-old John Walton Jr. went to Coccia Ford near Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday complaining that his van had transmission problems. Full Story

AP - Georgia police said a misdialed number led two strangers to trade hostile calls and text messages before arranging a meeting where one shot the other. Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Veda Lamar Nichols told the Savannah Morning News in a Wednesday story that man, 22, faces an aggravated assault charge. The 22-year-old suspect was jailed after a 24-year-old man was shot in a CVS parking lot around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Full Story

AP - Police arrested a 56-year-old man accused of threatening another man with a corkscrew at a public restroom in Riverfront Commemorative Park. A witness told police he saw a man holding a corkscrew in his hand while kicking the bathroom door and threatening to kill the man inside. No one was injured. Full Story
