Hillary and former President Bill Clinton, from 2007 to 2014, paid more than $43 million in federal taxes, more than $13 million in state taxes and donated nearly $15 million to charity, according to data and a statement posted on her presidential campaign website. Clinton released eight years of tax returns Friday.

The Clintons paid an effective federal tax rate of 35.7 percent and a combined federal, state and local effective rate of 45.8 percent last year, she said in a statement. They also donated 10.8% of their income to charity. It is not clear how much of that money went to The Clinton Foundation, their family's philanthropic organization.

Former University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Samuel DuBose.

Tensing fatally shot DuBose during a July 19 traffic stop over an alleged missing license tag. The former officer said he was forced to fire his weapon after almost being run over.

Video of the shooting, caught on Tensing's body camera, appears to contradict his version of events. While announcing charges in the case Wednesday, Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters called the shooting "asinine" and "totally unwarranted."

The Australian Deputy Prime Minister is set to speak to the media about the discovery of debris in the western Indian Ocean.

The debris appears to be part of a Boeing 777, the same model as Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that disappeared in 2014, according to a source close to the investigation.

The source said there is a unique element to the Boeing 777's flaperon, a wing component, that Boeing observers believe they are seeing in photos.

The debris was found Wednesday off the coast of Reunion Island, a French department in the western Indian Ocean. It is being examined to determine whether it is connected to flight MH370, a member of the French air force in Reunion said.

A majority of Americans wants Congress to reject the recently negotiated nuclear deal with Iran, even as President Barack Obama's approval rating continues to stand in net-positive territory for the second month in a row, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

The poll finds 49% approve of the way Obama is handling his job, and 47% disapprove, about the same as in a June survey, which found the President's approval rating at 50% for the first time since 2013. But on the President's biggest accomplishment since then -- the nuclear agreement reached between the U.S., its allies and Iran -- most say they would like to see Congress reject it. Overall, 52% say Congress should reject the deal while 44% say it should be approved.

Some opposition to the deal may be fueled by skepticism. A CNN/ORC poll in late June, conducted as the deal was being worked out, found that nearly two-thirds of adults thought it was unlikely the negotiations would result in an agreement that would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

The nation's premier federal program that provides work for people who are severely disabled is mired in widespread corruption, financial fraud, and violations of the law, numerous sources tell CNN's Drew Griffin. And instead of helping the severely disabled find work, the taxpayer-funded agency is at times allowing jobs to be taken away from the disabled, the sources say.

AbilityOne, along with the nonprofit agency that manages its program for the severely disabled, SourceAmerica, are being investigated by authorities for illegal operations, financial fraud, mismanagement, operating in violation of the law, steering of contracts, and possibly obstruction of justice. Several inside sources tell CNN the program is among the worst cases of its type they've ever seen in a federal agency.

CNN has learned the U.S. Department of Justice has begun its own investigation into the various allegations. In addition, at least four separate inspectors general offices have active investigations into AbilityOne and SourceAmerica.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of singers Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has died, according to family members.

The 22-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and the late singer Whitney Houston was found unresponsive January 31 in a bathtub in her home outside Atlanta. The extent of her injuries was not made public. In April, Brown's grandmother said Brown had "global and irreversible brain damage."

Police have said they are treating Brown's case as a criminal investigation.

When Whitney Houston died in 2012, she was also found in a bathtub. A coroner ruled her death an accidental drowning, with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors.

Donald Trump has increased his support among GOP voters and now stands atop the race for the party's nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

Among Republicans, Trump has 18% support, followed by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush with 15%. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has 10% support among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who are registered to vote. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.

Trump's backing has climbed 6 points since a late June poll, while support for Bush and Walker has not changed significantly. None of the other 14 candidates earned double-digit support.

The CNN/ORC poll is the first publicly released national telephone survey to be conducted entirely after Trump's criticism of Sen. John McCain's military record during an Iowa campaign event last weekend, drawing rebukes from other Republicans for saying he didn't think McCain is a war hero.

Among Republican voters, 31% expect Bush will win the presidential nomination, 22% think Trump will win, and 14% predict a Walker victory.

According to the poll conducted July 22-25, most Republican voters say that they want Trump to remain in the race, and that he's the candidate they are most likely to say they want to see on the debate stage.

Convicted spy Jonathan Pollard could be released in November, when he is up for parole, or earlier if legally possible, U.S. officials say.

Pollard, a one-time U.S. Navy Intelligence officer, was accused of passing classified information to Israel and convicted in 1987 on one count of espionage and sentenced to life in prison. The officials said Pollard has been a model prisoner during his term and the classified information he once possessed no longer poses a danger to the United States.

A spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council said there is "zero linkage" between a possible Pollard release and foreign policy.

Europe has filed antitrust charges against UK pay television service Sky TV and six major Hollywood film studios, accusing them of illegally curbing access to movies and TV shows for some viewers.

The six studios are Disney, Comcast-owned NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures, Sony, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. (Warner Bros. is a unit of Time Warner, which owns CNN.)

The EU says the studios and Sky unfairly prevent consumers elsewhere in Europe from accessing pay-TV services available in the UK and Ireland.

"European consumers want to watch the pay-TV channels of their choice regardless of where they live or travel in the EU," said Margrethe Vestager, the EU commissioner in charge of competition.

The European Union has recently launched several antitrust cases against big American companies. Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Qualcomm and Google are all feeling the pressure, finding themselves under the scrutiny of authorities. The EU has also accused MasterCard of overcharging consumers with the fees it charges.

Muhsin al-Fadhli, the longtime al Qaeda operative and leader of the Khorasan Group, was killed in a military strike on July 8 in Syria, the Pentagon says.

Al-Fadhli's death will "degrade and disrupt ongoing external operations of al Qaeda against the United States," Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said.

In September, officials said the group was plotting against a U.S. homeland target and Western targets. There were also indications the militants had obtained materials and were working on explosive devices that would be hard to detect, including common hand-held electronic devices and airplane carry-on items such as toiletries.

The New Horizons spacecraft has completed a historic fly-by of Pluto, NASA says, making its closest pass at 7:49 a.m. ET.

The unmanned, piano-sized spacecraft was traveling nearly 31,000 miles per hour when it passed about 7,750 miles above Pluto.

New Horizons will continue traveling out into the Kuiper Belt, a region scientists think is filled with thousands of other small, icy worlds. Scientists say the probe will continue sending back data about Pluto for several months.

New Horizons was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Jan. 19, 2006, and traveled more than 3 billion miles to reach Pluto. It's the first mission for any nation to Pluto and its five moons.

The mission completes what NASA calls its initial reconnaissance of the classical solar system. The space agency has now sent probes to Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

From there, in a fate lawmakers decided this week after hours of contentious debate, the flag will go about a mile down the road to a state military museum.
