Filed under: Oscar De La Hoya , TMZ Sports Oscar De La Hoya began drinking and using cocaine, which then caused him to have infidelity problems in his marriage ... sources connected with the former boxing champ tell TMZ. We broke the story ... Oscar voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility in California for substance abuse issues a few weeks ago.  Oscar has told friends he does not believe he hit bottom, but checked himself into rehab before things got totally out of control.  As one source put it ... Oscar has had fidelity issues and it seems to correlate with substance abuse ... and that's a matter he's dealing with in rehab. Permalink

Ex-KISS Guitarist -- Blood, Cuts, and 4 Dead Dogs Top
Filed under: Vincent Cusano , Vinnie Vincent , Celebrity Justice , Music Former KISS guitarist Vincent Cusano -- aka Vinnie Vincent -- allegedly smacked his wife in the face and dragged her through a pile of broken glass on the night he was arrested ... and when cops arrived to the house, they found 4 dead dogs at the scene ... this according to law enforcement. The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office tells TMZ ... on May 22, Vincent's wife, Diane, arrived to the Sheriff's Office "covered in blood" and reeking of alcohol. Cops say 44-year-old Diane told the officers how she had just escaped from the couple's Tennessee home ... after Vincent "smacked her in the face" following an argument about a "female subject [Vincent] was talking to." She says Vincent then "grabbed her by the hair and threw her down to the ground." Diane says Vincent then "dragged her through a pile of glass from a broken plate that had been on the floor since before the argument had started." Diane told police she tried to get away -- but 58-year-old Vincent threw her to the ground 4 more times. She eventually escaped and drove herself to the station. Cops dispatched officers to the home -- where they found Vincent and "four sealed containers containing deceased dogs." Diane told the cops .... the dogs had been "killed by one of their aggressive dogs." Vincent was eventually arrested and booked for aggravated domestic assault -- and his bond was set at $10,000.  TMZ obtained his mug shot, pictured above. An animal service team was contacted to look into the dead dog situation. Permalink
 
Michael Lohan Pleads Not Guilty to Domestic Charge Top
Filed under: Michael Lohan , Kate Major , Celebrity Justice Michael Lohan is sticking by his story that he DIDN'T beat the crap out of his ex, Kate Major -- by pleading not guilty today to a misdemeanor charge of inflicting injury on a cohabitant. Michael entered the plea moments ago at the courthouse in Beverly Hills. As we first reported, Michael was arrested on March 21 in L.A. after an argument with Kate allegedly became physical. Naturally, Michael claims Kate is the one who assaulted him . Michael's trial starts July 5. Permalink

GLAAD: Homophobia Big Problem in NBA Top
Filed under: Joakim Noah , TMZ Sports GLAAD claims a homophobic epidemic has erupted in the NBA, and wants the league to take action against players who spew hateful remarks against gays during games. GLAAD's reaction comes hours after Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah targeted a fan in the stands, calling him a f**got.  Kobe Bryant hurled the same slur during a playoff game last month. GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios tells us, "Last month the NBA sent an important message about how such slurs fuel a climate of intolerance and are unacceptable. These anti-gay remarks, coming so soon after, demonstrate how much needs to be done.” Barrios adds, “Noah's apology is a start. We are confident that the NBA will now take disciplinary measures and hasten its work with us to tell all players that there is no place for anti-gay words and attitudes in the game.” It's unclear why Barrios is so confident the NBA will take action, because some of the players seem more than comfortable spewing anti-gay slurs on the court.  There's a sentiment in the NBA -- the term f**got is not really a gay slur, but just smack talk among athletes.   Permalink

Mildred Patricia Baena was not well-liked by the rest of the staff in the early 90s, when she worked as a maid for Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver at their L.A. home -- and we're told the big reason was that she trash-talked Hispanics. Sources who worked with Baena tell TMZ ... she was a "self-hating woman" who would tell members of the staff that "white people were better" and she did whatever she could to become friendly with Caucasians.  One staffer told us ...  most of Baena's peers disliked her because she was a social climber, adding, "She felt like she was better than the rest of us," This photo was taken in 1992 at Arnold and Maria's house, several years before she set her sights on Schwarzenegger and began the affair.  Rich Austrians apparently posed no problem for her. Joakim Noah Apologizes for Gay Slur Top

Speaking to reporters in the locker room, Noah said, "I apologize. The fan said something to me that I thought was disrespectful, and I got caught up in the moment, and I said some things that I shouldn't have said. I was frustrated and I don't mean no disrespect to anybody. I just got caught up." Noah said he expects to be fined for the comment ( Kobe Bryant was fined $100,000 for a similar incident) but so far no word from the NBA. Noah was caught on camera screaming at a fan by the bench and capped it off by yelling, "F**k you, f**got." Permalink
