Tuesday, Oct 30, 2012 12:25 PM PDT
Romney Makes Last-Ditch Play For PennsylvaniaIt's a tradition for Republican presidential candidates to pour money into Pennsylvania with little to show for it -- the state hasn't picked a Republican for the office in 24 years. But a week before the election, the Romney campaign says it is making a serious play for the Keystone State. In a memo released Tuesday, campaign manager Rich Beeson argued that Pennsylvania is a "unique opportunity" for Romney. And the campaign seems to be putting its money where its mouth is, placing statewide ad buys that should begin airing on television Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. ...

Q&A: Could Sandy postpone the election?

FILE - This Oct. 29, 2012 file photo shows Vice President Joe Biden speaking in front of "Vote Early" sign during a campaign rally at the Covelli Centre, Monday, in Youngstown, Ohio. One week before a close election, superstorm Sandy has confounded the presidential race, halting early voting in many areas, forcing both candidates to suspend campaigning and leading many to ponder whether the election might be postponed. It could take days to restore electricity to all of the more than 8 million homes and businesses that lost power when the storm pummeled the East Coast. That means it’s possible that power could still be out in some states on Election Day _ a major problem for areas that rely on electronic voting machines.
