Coldwater Canyon Avenue reopens to traffic

A half-mile stretch of the busy street had been closed for a week after a major water pipe broke, flooding homes and washing some cars away in a powerful torrent. A heavily traveled stretch of Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Studio City that was closed for a week because of a ruptured water pipe reopened Saturday night, according to officials with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
