Nadal of Spain hits a return to compatriot Almagro during their men's singles match at the Acapulco International tennis tournament in AcapulcoACAPULCO (Reuters) - Rafa Nadal advanced to the final of the Mexican Open early on Saturday morning, beating fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 7-5 6-4 in a clay-court slugfest. Second seed Nadal, who is on the comeback trail after missing seven months due to a knee injury, will face another Spaniard, three-times defending champion and top seed David Ferrer, in the final. The Lebanese Football Association handed out various penalties to 24 players, including life bans for defender Ramez Dayoub and forward Mahmoud El-Ali, following allegations that international and regional games were rigged. ...

Elsom, who has played 75 tests for the Wallabies, has been dogged by injuries during the last two years and will start training with his new club from Monday. "I am very happy to join Toulon ... it's a big club with big ambitions," the 30-year-old said in a statement on the club's website (www.rctoulon.com). The blindside flanker was playing for Japanese club Kobe Steel since leaving New South Wales Waratahs last year. ...
