NEW YORK (AP) — A crime novelist whose books were inspired by Brazilian law enforcement has died. Leighton Gage was 71. His daughter Melina Gage Ratcliffe says he died Friday evening at his home in Ocala, Fla., from pancreatic cancer. He had been diagnosed three months ago.
