LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Batman's crime-ridden gritty fictional metropolis of Gotham City will be the focus of a new Fox drama, the latest comic book-inspired series to tap superheroes' ability to draw audiences to both film and TV. Fox described its new show "Gotham" as "the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous," the network said on Wednesday. Gordon is the police commissioner of Gotham City, and often supports Batman to defeat the city's villains. ...

Ratings for the one-hour show, which aired opposite CBS drama "NCIS" and NBC singing contest "The Voice," were the highest for a drama debut in nearly four years, ABC said. Com Hem on Wednesday announced Netflix will be available in December through TiVo boxes, allowing subscribers to watch the streaming service's shows and movies through an app without having to switch to another device, such as a Blu-ray player. Com Hem ended the second quarter with 605,700 video subscribers. ...

LVMH names J.W. Anderson creative director for Loewe

PARIS (Reuters) - LVMH has reached a deal with British fashion designer J.W. Anderson, appointing him creative director for its high-end handbag brand Loewe. LVMH is also taking a minority stake in J.W. Anderson's label, the French company said in a statement. Financial terms were not disclosed. LVMH, the world's biggest luxury goods group, already revealed last week it was investing in another budding UK label, shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood.
