NEWPORT NEWS Police are investigating a homicide this morning at 32nd and Salters streets. Someone called police about 6:25 a.m. to report that a person was dead on the sidewalk, according to Lou Thurston, police spokesman. When officers arrived, they found a male who appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
