Trainer Mike Tammaro dead at age 57

Mike Tammaro, a fixture at Turfway Park and River Downs for the last two decades and whose family is well known in the East and beyond for their work as Thoroughbred horsemen, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Ky., after suffering a massive heart attack at his home in Florence. |

FOR playing with his younger brother’s heart, a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed inside their house in Barangay Poblacion, Tabogon, Cebu last Friday afternoon. The victim, Peter, died from a head injury, after the slug from a .38 revolver tore throgh the back of his head and exited in the forehead. |
