President Barack Obama will submit a nomination to replace Justice Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court, sources told CNN on Saturday night.
Scalia's death in Texas set off an immediate debate about whether Obama should attempt to fill the seat in an election year.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Obama should wait until the next president comes into office, while top Senate Democrat Harry Reid called for the seat to be filled "right away."
