Dallas stop yields 100 pounds of pot in casket

AP - A casket minus a cadaver yielded nearly 100 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop in Dallas. William Dale Crock of Cave City, Ark., was in jail Friday on a marijuana possession charge, plus traffic and seat beat violations. Dallas police say Crock was arrested Wednesday when bundles of marijuana were discovered under the casket's cover and pillow. Full Story

Tenn. couple accused of assault using Cheetos

AP - Authorities said a couple got into a fight using Cheetos. The Bedford County Sheriff's Department said a 40-year-old man and 44-year-old woman became involved in a 'verbal altercation.' Somehow, the orange puffy snacks were used in the assault. Full Story

Same NY house catches fire two night in a row

AP - Authorities said the same house caught fire two nights in a row this week. Nassau County, N.Y., Fire Marshal Michael Mennello said both fires were deemed accidental. They appeared to be related to construction work. No injuries were reported. Full Story

Cops: Man deposits $200 with pot, cocaine at bank

AP - Authorities said a man using the drive-through at a Tallahassee bank deposited $200 and a small bag containing marijuana and cocaine. Police said an employee at the Wachovia Bank called police Wednesday after the unusual deposit. An officer arrested a 38-year-old man and found the remnants of three marijuana cigarettes inside his vehicle. Full Story

AP - Police are keeping an eye on a downtown York parking lot where merchants are complaining about soda cans filled with urine. The merchants say that for the past couple months, they've been finding a discarded can three or four times a week. A catheter is placed in each can opening. AP - A baby opossum's instinct to play dead evidently didn't help matters after it got wedged inside a soda machine at an upstate New York fitness club.
