WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - West Haven police say a man found dead in a wrecked car may not have died in the crash. Police found the car and the body of 20-year-old Tremaine Newton of Bridgeport about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the woods near a commuter lot, just off exit 43 of Interstate 95. Police say Newton's injuries were not consistant with those he would have suffered in a motor vehicle accident. ... |

Body found near Lake Michigan in Evanston

The body of a man who appeared to have been shot was found along Lake Michigan in north suburban Evanston Sunday morning, authorities said. The 30-year-old man, who remained unidentified, was discovered in the 900 block of Edgemere Court along Lake Michigan in Evanston, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman, who said the man appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.
