Troubled boxing champion Johnny Tapia dies at age 45

Reuters - SANTA FE, New Mexico (Reuters) - Five-time world boxing champion Johnny Tapia was found dead in his Albuquerque, New Mexico, home at the age of 45, officials said on Monday. Tapia, who was as renowned for his cocaine use and traumatic childhood as he was for his boxing talent, was found dead late Sunday night, police said. The cause of death was not yet known. Albuquerque police were called to Tapia's house late Sunday, where they found the boxer unconscious, said Albuquerque Police spokesman Robert Gibbs. He later died. ... Full Story | Top |

"I am signing for the Champions League winner," Hazard, 21, said on his Twitter feed (@hazardeden10). Atletico sign Uruguay forward Rodriguez from Porto

Reuters - MADRID (Reuters) - Atletico Madrid have agreed to sign Uruguay forward Cristian Rodriguez from Portugal's Porto on a free transfer, the La Liga club said on Monday. Rodriguez will join the Europa League winners on a four-year deal subject to a medical and will sign his contract after Uruguay's World Cup 2014 qualifiers against Venezuela and Peru next month, Atletico said on their website (www.clubatleticodemadrid.com). Reuters - RABAT (Reuters) - Coastal club Moghreb Tetouan won their first Moroccan league title with a 1-0 win over FUS Rabat in the final game of the season on Monday. A 50th-minute goal from Abdelkarim Benhania lifted Tetouan to 61 points, four more than second-placed FUS Rabat. The two unfancied teams had emerged as the only contenders for the title going into the final weekend of the season and by a quirk of fate were drawn to play each other.
