Novel cancer drug reduces neuroblastoma growth by 75 percent

( University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center ) Researchers from the Children's Cancer Hospital at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center have found a new drug that restricts the growth of neuroblastoma, a childhood brain cancer. The pre-clinical study was presented today in the plenary session at the 22nd annual meeting of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

A donation campaign in support of two-year-old Zlata Chernoknizhnaya. At the end of 2006 it was discovered that Zlata was suffering from a malignant brain tumor. For a year and a half the girl underwent chemotherapy in hospital. But the tumor continued to grow.

( American Roentgen Ray Society ) Radiologists are now able to look at parts of the brain using diffusion tensor imaging that are rarely visible with any other imaging method, according to a study performed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass.
