Zambia give up hope of Mulenga recovery

photoJOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Zambia have given up hope Dutch-based striker Jacob Mulenga will recover in time from injury and left him out of their preliminary squad for next month's African Nations Cup finals. Mulenga suffered a knee injury in action for FC Utrecht in October but Zambia were hopeful he would return after surgery in time for the tournament in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, which starts on January 21. However, coach Herve Renard has confirmed Mulenga's recovery would take longer than expected and that he would miss the Nations Cup for a second successive time. ...

Swiss court orders FIFA to release ISL documents

Reuters - ZURICH (Reuters) - FIFA has been ordered by the Supreme Court of the Canton of Zug to release documents relating to the collapse of its former marketing partner ISL. World soccer's governing body said this month it had been forced to delay the publication of the potentially incriminating documents following objections from one of the parties involved. But FIFA president Sepp Blatter also said he remained determined the documents would be published as part of his plan to clean up his organisation, which has been plagued by allegations of corruption. ...
