She will be replaced as the host of the Sunday political show, "This Week," by George Stephanopoulos. A well-placed source tells TMZ Christiane is going back to CNN as an international correspondent. George will be doing double duty on "This Week" as well as "Good Morning America." Here's what's interesting. TMZ posted a story in September, saying there was talk at ABC about replacing George on GMA with the newsreader, Josh Elliot. We said back then that the plan was for George to go back to "This Week" and that Josh would get the GMA anchor seat within a year. Stay tuned ... TMZ | |

| Filed under: Scottie Pippen, TMZ Sports, Celebrity Justice  Scottie Pippen claims he's been unfairly portrayed in the media as a walking financial disaster -- and now he's suing every media outlet that reported he went bankrupt ... claiming he hasn't been worth LESS than $40,000,000 in the last 10 years. Pippen has filed a lawsuit against TONS of online media outlets -- including CBSsports.com, CNBC.com, Arizona State University and more -- claiming they all falsely reported the former Chicago Bulls star had gone belly up. According to the docs, filed in federal court in Illinois and obtained by TMZ ... Pippen claims, "It is a most foul libel indeed to be falsely accused of being bankrupt." The lawsuit continues, "Scottie never filed bankruptcy and indeed has a substantial net worth, which has not been less than approximately $40,000,000 in the last ten years." Pippen claims CNBC.com included him in an article titled, "15 Athletes Gone Bankrupt" ... and CBSsports.com posted a photo of Pippen along with a story about NBA players and bankruptcy. As for ASU -- Pippen claims he was tagged as a person who had gone bankrupt in a law blog operated by the University. A rep for the cereal company tells TMZ, “We have some safeguards that are supposed to keep this from happening, but I guess it wasn’t set up with this game." The rep adds, "Normally, our games where we allow viewers to spell out things themselves have safeguards that tell children they can’t type stuff like that in. TMZ has learned. Mueller's rep, Steve Honig, tells TMZ, "After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction." "She has already arrived at the facility and, out of respect for her privacy, no further information will be released about her treatment. Brooke’s goal is to maintain her sobriety and she believes this is the best option to reach that goal." “Brooke will retain custody of the children, who will remain in their home and familiar surroundings and be under the care of their longtime nanny. Charlie and Brooke’s parents fully support her decision and everyone recognizes the importance of maintaining the children's normal routine." Brooke had previously decided she would enter an outpatient rehab program to be with her kids -- so much for that.  Brooke was seen boarding a private jet in Los Angeles last night ... presumably headed for her rehab center. Mueller was seen smiling and chatting with her entourage before getting on board. The alleged victims, 39-year-old Bobby Davis and 45-year-old Mike Lang, announced their lawsuit in a news conference today -- Gloria Allred presiding -- claiming head basketball coach Jim Boeheim destroyed their reputations by publicly calling BS on their stories. After their ESPN interview aired -- in which Lang and Davis accused ex-Syracuse coach Bernie Fine of abusing them as children -- Boeheim gave several statements to the media ... calling the two "liars" just looking for money, crawling out of the woodwork after the Penn State scandal. Davis and Lang filed the defamation suit today in N.Y. State Supreme Court -- suing the University alongside its head coach ... for carelessly tarnishing their reputation. TMZ | |

| Filed under: Jerry Sandusky, Celebrity Justice, TMZ Sports  Some of the top criminal defense lawyers in L.A. tell TMZ ... they are "astonished" that Jerry Sandusky's lawyer waived his right to a preliminary hearing, because it would have been the only possible way the former Penn State assistant coach could've beaten the child molestation rap. The lawyers were unanimous -- the prelim was the ONLY opportunity Sandusky's attorney had to test the veracity of the alleged victims before the trial. As one criminal defense lawyer put it, "The prelim is where the lawyer can lock down the victim's story. It's the only time Sandusky's lawyer can probe as to why such a long delay in reporting the crime." Crimes that are not reported for years create inherent problems for prosecutors, not the least of which are fading memories and exaggerations over time. There's also a "me too" dynamic in these cases -- people riding the wave and saying they were also victims. The prelim is where the defense can mine these weaknesses. One of the defense lawyers we spoke with scoffed at Sandusky's statement this morning ... that he will fight for four quarters: "Waiving the preliminary hearing is like laying down on the field for the first half of the game." The lawyer said, "If Sandusky's lawyer is worried about bad publicity, it's not like it could get any worse," adding, "The decision to waive prelim is mind-numbingly stupid." TMZ | |

The auction house later produced a letter signed by Polanski, contradicting Tate's sister. The controversy didn't seem to matter when the ring hit the block at the GottaHaveRockandRoll.com auction -- because the item sold for $21,260 ... well over the $10,000 starting bid. According to public records, Beyonce dropped $465,000 on a tiny cabana in a glitzy Miami condo complex back in 2002 -- it only measured 190 square feet ... and contained one 1/2 bathroom. The place is basically a small little beachfront room, from which Beyonce could walk to and from the sand and the pool. It's highly likely Beyonce owned a bigger condo in the complex ... and used the cabana so she could change and use her own private restroom without having to schlep all the way back through the building. But that was BEFORE November 9th ... when B sold the cabana for $110,000 ... a tad below her $135,000 asking price ... and $355,000 LESS than she paid for it. Tough loss ... but we're guessing she'll be able to get by somehow. We called Beyonce for comment -- so far, no response. | |

The former Penn State assistant coach waived his right to a preliminary hearing this AM in his child molestation case. The judge was supposed to hear testimony from Sandusky's accusers and then decide if there was enough evidence to justify a trial. By waiving his right to a prelim, the case will automatically be set for a full trial. On his way into court, Sandusky said, "We fully intend to put together the best possible defense that we can do, to stay the course, to fight for 4 quarters. We want the opportunity to present our side." Outside the courthouse, Sandusky's lawyer, Joseph Amendola, told the media, "There will be no plea negotiations. This is a fight to the death." TMZ | |

Todd -- who battled serious drug addiction during and after he fizzled out of the NFL back in 1993 -- has been painting and sculpting non-stop ... telling us, "I've been sober for over three years ... the art is my main therapy." Some of Todd's work was featured in the new ESPN documentary, "The Marinovich Project" ... and T.M. says the exposure is having an insane impact on his business, "Orders are pouring in for the prints." Todd tells us the main piece of art featured in the doc is called, "The Alchemist" ... which is based on himself. "It's the most sought after print," Todd explains ... | Filed under: Christina Perri  "Jar of Hearts" singer Christina Perri had to fight off a wannabe car intruder in the middle of the night last week ... after the guy allegedly tried to force his way into Perri's ride ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Perri called police early Friday morning claiming she was behind the wheel of her car, waiting to pull into a L.A. building around 2 AM ... when an unknown male approached her vehicle and opened the driver's side door. Perri claims the man instructed her to "move over" and tried to shove himself into the car -- but she wouldn't budge ... and a struggle ensued. Perri told cops she fought the man off ... and began honking the horn to attract attention. The suspect eventually ran away ... but not before allegedly striking Perri in the head and body a few times during the altercation. Perri said she did not need immediate medical attention Cops responded -- and are now investigating the situation. So far, cops have not identified a suspect. A rep for Perri had no comment. | |
