Breaking News: Presidential debate

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are waging what may be the nastiest presidential debate in US history. Follow updates and watch it on CNN.

Trying to shake off the fallout from a decade-old video, Trump repeatedly said the vulgar language he used about women was just "locker room talk" before pivoting to accusations about Bill Clinton and his plans to fight ISIS. He called the former president "abusive."

Clinton said she had been thinking carefully about Trump’s video. "It represents exactly who he is," she said. Get CNN's Reality Check.

Trump also said he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton if he is elected president. "You'd be in jail," he told her at the debate.
