Breaking News

About 1,500 people are stranded by floodwaters from Hurricane Matthew in Lumberton, North Carolina, Gov. Pat McCrory said.

"We have people on roofs as we speak," he said this morning.

McCrory said the Federal Aviation Administration has ordered flight restrictions over the area so rescue helicopters can work.

Ten people have died in North Carolina, bringing the US death toll from the storm to 20.
