A federal judge has granted Dylann Roof's motion to represent himself, according to CNN affiliates WIS, WCBD and WCSC.
Roof is accused of killing nine people in 2015 at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church in Charleston, South Carolina. He was deemed competent last week to stand trial.
