Valley actress dies at 82

Marian Carter was known by many in the San Jacinto Valley for the role she played for 22 years as Señora Moreno in the “Ramona” outdoor play. Carter, who performed her last season as the Señora in 2005, died May 9 of cancer at her home in Hemet. She was 82.

There were some changes in format from the former Relay For Life that had been held in the area, including holding the event from noon to midnight as opposed to teams spending the night at the park.
