An Orange County judge refused to offer a plea deal to a man accused of text messaging and being under the influence of Vicodin and Xanax when his truck struck a 14-year-old boy, killing the teen. A grand jury indicted Jeffrey Woods in 2007 after he hit Danny Oates, who was riding his bicycle to school.

2 Men Shot, Killed In South L.A.'s Hyde Park
