Cops: Woman makes threat to help boss make flight

AP - A South Florida woman has been charged with calling in a bomb threat to keep her boss from missing a flight. An arrest report said a 31-year-old woman was charged Thursday with making a false report of planting a bomb. Miami International Airport officials received a call and an e-mail Wednesday claiming that a bomb was on an American Airlines plane. Police searched the specified aircraft but didn't find a bomb. Woman, 77, says she was pressured into buying car

AP - A woman filed a lawsuit claiming a Clive auto dealership pressured her to buy a new car while she was waiting for an oil change. The Polk County lawsuit said a Holmes Hyundai saleswoman pressured 77-year-old Audrey McKnight to buy the car while she waited for the service on her 2006 car. McKnight claims she was adamant she couldn't afford a new car but finally gave up after being pressured for hours. Full Story

Ohio man's private football party crashed by deer

AP - A man in Ohio said he had to do some running of his own while watching football on TV when a deer came crashing in through a window. Jeff Berger said he managed to get out of the way when the animal charged at him Sunday evening inside his fiancee's house in Lima in northwest Ohio. The deer jumped on the living room sofa Berger had been lying on. Full Story

Wis. would-be robber arrives too late to rob bank

AP - Maybe the bank robber needed the money to buy a watch. It would seem he needed one after arriving six minutes after the Guardian Credit Union in Waukesha closed. Police said a man wearing a ski mask entered the first set of doors at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday with a gun, apparently not realizing the bank was closed. Full Story

AP - The Salvation Army says someone dropped a gold coin worth more than $1,000 in a collection kettle in south-central Pennsylvania. York Salvation Army Maj. Lurlene Mudge said the South African gold Krugerrand was wrapped in a $1 bill and later discovered in counting the collections. It was placed Friday in a kettle outside a Kmart store in Springettsbury Township, just outside York. Full Story
